I was a patrolman at the time. I was patrolling one of our neighborhoods and observed a car making a u-turn right in front of me! I pulled the car over and started talking to an elderly man. He had no ID, the car was in his wife's name, and it came back registered to an address in Florida. The man was grateful I stopped him, as he was lost and having trouble getting back to his wife’s friend’s home. They were visiting from Florida. After five hours of trying to find his wife and the friend’s home, I eventually found out he was an Alzheimer’s patient and had been placed in an assisted living home about two miles from where I found him. When I returned the gentleman home to his distressed wife, it was like watching a movie with the emotions and relief all wrapped up in one.
