Dispatch broadcasted for a Cadillac involved in an armed carjacking and kidnapping, with the victim still captive inside the vehicle. The offense originated almost 30 miles away. I located the Cadillac and attempted a felony stop. The vehicle fled up to 70 mph through residential neighborhoods, driving over a median into opposite lanes and running stop signs. Despite a flat tire, the vehicle proceeded, weaving through highway traffic running several red lights at twice the speed limit. It then lost control causing a crash. A suspect exited with a gun in hand and I pursued him into an occupied store. Upon cornering him, I made the apprehension. The victim stated that during the pursuit, the suspect held the gun to her head threatening to kill her. Fortunately, the victim was rescued unharmed. Her car was recovered and the armed/kidnapping suspect was apprehended, all while wearing my Elbeco uniform.
