I was on routine patrol of our facilities parking area and involved in my form of Community Policing by waving and smiling at people as they entered the facility. This allows the people to see the police as non-threatening and also lets me pair people with their vehicles. I smiled and waved at a person on a motorcycle and it meant enough to them that they reported it back to my Chief saying that I had made their day and made them feel valued as a Veteran. For that one brief moment that veteran felt that the system cared about them. Officers need to remember to make the public feel valued everyday. I am proud to be a police officer and proud to wear Elbeco products because they show the pride I have in my profession.
