“EVERY ELBECO UNIFORM TELLS A STORY”
CONTEST OFFICIAL RULES

1. HOW IT WORKS: Elbeco invites all personnel who currently wear or have worn an Elbeco uniform during their employment to submit an original 150-word (or fewer) essay that tells an interesting story that occurred while you were wearing the Elbeco uniform (for example, how you made a significant impact in a situation through your actions; how you performed service to the community exceeding your normal duties; a heartwarming story). You are encouraged to also submit a photograph of yourself wearing an Elbeco uniform (optional), although the photograph will not be judged.
2. HERE’S HOW TO ENTER: There will be four monthly entry/judging periods: September, October, November and December of 2007. Online entries must be received by 11:59 PM ET on the last day of the month to be eligible for that month’s entry/judging period. Mailed entries must be received by the last business day of the month to be eligible for that month’s entry/judging period, with the exception of the final monthly entry/judging period* for which mailed entries must be received by 1/9/08 (business days are defined as Monday through Friday). Entries will be judged only for the month for which they are received, based on the chart below. Non-winning entries will not be rolled over into subsequent monthly entry periods.

1. 1. VIA INTERNET: Beginning 12:01 AM ET on 9/1/07 through 11:59 PM ET on 12/31/07, visit www.elbeco.com and follow the online entry instructions to submit your entry. See entry/photograph requirements listed below. You may enter more than once per monthly entry/judging period, but each submission must be different.
   2. VIA MAIL: Visit www.elbeco.com, during the online entry period stated above, to print an Official Entry Form or visit your Elbeco uniforms dealer to obtain an Official Entry Form beginning 12:01 AM ET on 9/1/07 through 11:59 PM ET on 12/31/07, during business hours, while supplies last. On an Official Entry Form, type or hand-print your complete name, date of birth (mm/dd/yyyy), street address, city, state, zip, name of the service organization you are currently working for or have worked for while wearing your Elbeco Uniform, work address (present or former), home and work (if applicable) telephone number(s), email address, and the dealer store’s name and address where you obtained your Elbeco uniform(s). On a separate plain piece of 8.5" x 11" paper, type or hand-print your essay and state the month and year your story occurred. Mail your completed entry via first-class mail to: “Every Elbeco Uniform Tells a Story” Contest, P.O. Box 5770, Blair, NE 68009-5770. Entries must be received by 1/9/08, when the contest ends. Illegible entries are void. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late, mutilated, incomplete, illegible, postage due or misdirected mail. You may enter as often as you wish, but each entry must be different and submitted separately.
   3. IF YOU ARE SUBMITTING A PHOTOGRAPH: The photograph must be in color. Photograph submitted online must be in JPEG format, 300dpi and saved as a 4" x 6" photo size. Photograph submitted via mail must be unframed, un-mounted and must be no smaller than 4" x 6" and no larger than 8" x 10". Slides or transparencies are not eligible. Photo/entry submissions must not display any commercial/corporate advertising (including but not limited to corporate logos, brand names, slogans, political, personal and religious statements) as determined by Sponsor, in its sole discretion.
3. JUDGING: Entries will be preliminarily judged by D.L. Blair, Inc., an independent judging organization, to determine 20 Semi-Finalists for each monthly entry period (Total of 80 Semi-Finalists). Judging to determine the (5) Finalists for each monthly entry period (Total of 20 Finalists) and to determine the Grand, Second and Third Prize winners will be accomplished by a panel of Sponsor representatives. Finalists will be notified by mail and/or telephone. All judging will be based on the following criteria: Originality of essay – 60% and Appropriateness of Essay to Theme – 40%. In the event of a tie, tiebreaker will be based on the highest score for Originality.
4. PRIZES & APPROXIMATE RETAIL VALUES: (1) Grand Prize – $5,000 for winner and a $1,500 retail credit for winner’s current or past service organization as indicated on his/her entry (ARV: $6,500). (1) Second Prize – $2,500 for winner and a $1,000 retail credit for winner’s current or past service organization as indicated on his/her entry (ARV: $3,500). (1) Third Prize – $1,000 for winner and a $500 retail credit for winner’s current or past service organization as indicated on his/her entry (ARV: $1,500). (20) Finalist Prizes (five per month) – A $100 retail credit for winner’s personal use, a Nano-Technology cap/hat, a UFX performance T-shirt and an Elbeco mug (ARV: $145 per prize). All cash prizes will be awarded in the form of a check; all retail credits will be awarded in the form of a certificate and must be redeemed by the date indicated on the certificate. Retail credits must be redeemed at the dealer indicated on winner’s entry form. Limit one Finalist Prize per person/household. Prizes consist of only the items specifically listed as part of the prize.
5. GENERAL RULES: Open only to legal residents of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who currently wear or have worn an Elbeco uniform in connection with their current or previous employment and who are 18 years of age or older as of date of entry. Void where prohibited. Employees of Elbeco, Inc., its respective parents, affiliates, subsidiaries, advertising, promotion and internet agencies and their immediate family members and/or those living in the same household of each are not eligible. Participation constitutes full and unconditional agreement to these Official Rules and Sponsor’s and judges’ decisions, which are final and binding in all matters related to this contest. All entries and photos submitted become the sole property of the Sponsor and none will be returned. No substitution or transfer of prize by winner permitted. Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize of equal or greater value. All federal, state and local income taxes are the sole responsibility of winner. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. Potential Grand, Second and Third Prize winners (or parent/legal guardian if potential winner is deemed a minor in his/her state of residence) must sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Release of Liability/Publicity Release/Prize Acceptance Form within 5 days of attempted notification certifying that entry submission is entrant’s own original work, has not been previously distributed or promoted, has not won a previous prize or award and that he/she has followed the Official Rules of the contest. Noncompliance within this time period or return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable will result in disqualification and an alternate will be selected. Submissions may not contain profanities or obscenities and may not in any way disparage persons or organizations associated with Sponsor. All entries must be in English. Sponsor/ judges reserve the right in their sole discretion to disqualify any entry that, in their sole opinion, refers, depicts or in any way reflects negatively upon the Sponsor, the Contest or any other person or entity, or does not comply with these requirements or these Official Rules. Submissions must be suitable for presentation in a public forum, in sole determination of judges and/or Sponsor. Sponsor reserves the right to: (a) use entrant’s name and likeness and publish all entries submitted, (b) alter, amend, edit or change entries prior to publication (c) use, publish, reproduce, alter, amend and copyright entries for purposes of advertising and trade without further compensation, unless prohibited by law, and (d) to modify, adapt or reproduce a photo in full, or to crop a photo for reproduction. By accepting prize, winner (or parent/legal guardian if winner is a minor in his/her state of residence) agrees to hold Sponsor, its respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prize. Winners (or parent/legal guardian if winner is a minor in his/her state of residence) assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claimed to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of any prize. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the Sponsor and its agencies to use winner’s name and/or likeness for purposes of advertising, trade and editorial (print and broadcast media) without further compensation, unless prohibited by law. By participating in this promotion, entrants (or parent/legal guardian if entrant is a minor in his/her state of residence) agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges, which are final. Sponsor, affiliates, subsidiaries and agencies are not responsible for any typographical or other error in the printing, the offering or announcement of any prize or in the administration of the promotion. In the event there is a discrepancy or inconsistency between disclosures or other statements contained in any promotional materials and the terms and conditions of the Official Rules, the Official Rules shall prevail, govern and control. In no event will more than the stated number of prizes be awarded.
6. NOTICE TO ONLINE ENTRANTS: ANY ATTEMPT BY AN INDIVIDUAL TO DELIBERATELY DAMAGE ANY WEB SITE OR UNDERMINE THE LEGITIMATE OPERATION OF THIS PROMOTION IS A VIOLATION OF CRIMINAL AND CIVIL LAWS, AND SHOULD SUCH AN ATTEMPT BE MADE, SPONSOR RESERVES THE RIGHT TO SEEK DAMAGES FROM ANY SUCH INDIVIDUAL TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW. Not responsible for faulty, incorrect or mistranscribed phone transmissions, incorrect announcements of any kind, technical hardware or software failures of any kind including any injury or damage to any person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in or experiencing any materials in connection with the promotion, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may limit a user’s ability to participate in the promotion. Sponsor reserves the right to cancel or modify the promotion if fraud, misconduct or technical failures destroy the integrity of the program; or if a computer virus, bug, or other technical problem corrupts the administration or security of the program as determined by Sponsor/judging agency/administrator, in their sole discretion. In the event the online entry portion of the Contest is terminated, a notice will be posted online and all eligible online entries received prior to termination and all eligible mailed entries received will be judged per Rule #3. Any damage made to the Web Site will be the responsibility of the authorized e-mail account holder of the e-mail address submitted at the time of entry. Proof of submitting entries will not be deemed to be proof of receipt by Sponsor. Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or the like methods of participation will void all such submissions by such methods. Sponsor reserves the right to prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected or if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation as stated herein or with any provision in these Official Rules.
