FAQ's about Tex-Trop with NANO-DRY technology
Table of Contents
What is NANO-DRY technology?
NANO-DRY technology is licensed to Burlington Raeford fabrics by their business partners NANO-TEX. This technology permanently bonds to the polyester fibers to make the fabric wick moisture away from the body to evaporate more quickly keeping you cooler in warmer weather.

How does NANO-DRY technology work?
"Nano" refers to a nanometer which at 1 billionth of a meter is the size of one molecule. Nano-technology attaches individual molecules to the polyester fiber engineered to alter selected characteristics of the fiber. NANO-DRY is a nano-technology designed to provide moisture transport. Other nano-technologies can provide different characteristics. For example, this fall the consumer market will see heavy promotion of khaki pants with a stain-repellent version of this nano-technology.

Will the NANO-DRY technology perform the same on both shirts and trousers?
The NANO-DRY technology works the same way on both shirts and trousers. However, due to the difference in yarn size, weave, and weight, the rate of moisture transport will be different.

How long lasting is NANO-DRY technology?
NANO-DRY technology creates a permanent molecular bond with the fiber and will not wash out.

Will the color and hand of Tex-Trop shirts and trousers with NANO-DRY technology match the previous Tex-Trop fabrics?
Tex-Trop with NANO-DRY technology will conform to our present color specification and feel the same. Our quality system inspects every fabric shipment.

How is NANO-DRY technology different from other fabric finishes?
Most commercially branded wicking and stain-repellent finishes are applied by running the fabric through a liquid bath to add a small concentration of compound to the fabric. This process is less consistent and the mechanical bond with the fabric is far weaker. Consequently, the performance of these finishes decrease substantially after wearing and repeated washings. The chemistry of NANO-DRY technology and the molecular bond it creates with the fiber maintains a consistent level of performance throughout the life of the garment.
