Elbeco relocated its Galion Manufacturing facility in October 2001. The main trouser manufacturing and distribution facility moved from the venerable 3-story downtown building to a more efficient and newer location.
The new facility provides increased efficiencies for the manufacture and distribution of uniform trousers. “The new building will definitely help utilize space better. We have operated in our Church Street facility for the last thirty years. It is now time for an upgrade," declared Mark Maloney, facility manager at Galion Manufacturing.
To better utilize resources, all outerwear, including the Summit Series jackets and pullovers and Postal outerwear, are now shipped from Elbeco’s Reading, Pennsylvania location. Also note that returns of outerwear will be made to the Reading facility. All dress blousecoats will be distributed from the Galion location.
The move comes as a significant change to the employees at the facility, some of whom have worked at the location for over 30 years. Though Elbeco has owned Galion Manufacturing since the mid eighties, it was formerly known as Caleb V. Smith, and had operated in Galion since about 1970.
