 Elbeco has introduced the first battle dress uniform (BDU) specifically designed for public safety and law enforcement use. The new BasicDuty Uniform is made from Elbeco’s rugged, high quality poly/cotton Tactical Twill fabric that provides better color matching and fade resistance, superior strength and more comfort than typical ripstop BDU fabrics. The new public safety uniform provides exceptional functionality and durability for any use, including tactical team operations, SWAT teams, training details, schools, Emergency Medical (EMS/EMT) and every day law enforcement use.
In May of 2003, the National Tactical Officers Association (NTOA) completed testing of the BasicDuty Uniform, giving it a total score of 4.45 out of a possible five. Uniforms were tested in the field both on the job and in training and have held up to the task, gaining an Excellent score!
Elbeco’s BasicDuty Uniforms are designed with several enhancements not found on typical BDUs, making the new uniform ideal for law enforcement use. These enhancements include a heavy duty #42 brass zipper and slider fly on the pants that is much easier to use than the traditional button fly. Matching shirt and pants pockets with inverted pleats provide extra roominess and a more professional look. Additionally, the shirts feature a practical reinforced shoulder strap, with a removable button featuring a 2” mike/utility opening.
All stitching, fit, parts, findings, model configuration, and sizing for Elbeco’s BasicDuty Uniform pants are compatible with US military specification MIL-T-44047E. Features of the new pants include a 6-pocket design, fused spill-proof pocket flaps, adjustable side tabs at the waist and nylon drawstrings at the legs. Elbeco’s authentic BasicDuty Uniform shirts are designed to surpass typical tactical shirt models and to meet public safety uniform standards. The shirts incorporate a 2-pocket design with snag proof button flaps and cuffs designed for roll-up functionality. Both garments feature reinforced patches (knees, elbows and seat) for added strength.
Uniform sizes range from XSR to XXXXLR (Unisex with normal BasicDuty Uniform sizing and fit). Elbeco’s BasicDuty Uniform pants and shirts are available in true dark navy and black, and can be mixed and matched with the complete Elbeco Tactical Twill product offering and other standard uniform colors.
